Its character on land: It’s a winner just from looking at it! The front deep profile with a wide sleeve keeps the eye awake that it’s all about racing. A batten set up, to flatten out profile on the exit of the sail to delete the back hand when powered. 7 battens, 3cams are now a trademark in the Point-7 racing sails. The outline is high aspect, having a shorter boom and a long luff. The base is cut low to offer a perfect close the gap, but not too wide to fit fast jibing.
Its character on water: STABILITY! Leaving the beach, the sail will totally feel light in your hands. Crank up the throttle and see how you will only feel the foil on the water as the sail will feel like it disappears in your hands. It’s what is called stability! The F1 allows us to focus on the pressure on the foil and enjoy the high speeds, eliminating control issues and annoying backhand. With the 3-cam the rotation is light and smooth.
Developed and designed by: #born07. The Point-7 Black Team. A team of professional sailors and designers who have proved themselves by designing the winning PWA tittle sails in Slalom, Waves and Freestyle.
Development Target: Life is a race. Not only testing the sail for straight-line speeds, but also checking how the sail would perform to offer the best comfort when foiling. Comfort on the straight line, power to always keep control. Power stability to keep the foil flying in total stability to let us focus on the race.
Rigging: The F1 needs to have the mast inserted on top of the cams. After pulling downhaul to 15cm of its final setting you can either put on the boom, and later pop on the cams before putting the final downhaul on, or place the cams on with the right technique, pulling on full downhaul, and then putting the boom on. You will find more instructions and videos on the support section on our website. Playing with the outhaul will boost up power or increase control. Tighten the battens just to let them follow the natural profile of the sail. without overtightening them.
